Curating Diversity is a project created by Valentina Bertolani and Luisa Santacesaria in 2019. Our goal is to share data and results of our investigations on the current state of the Italian musical scene with other researchers and interested parties.
With our work, we bring awareness to the challenges that women and minorities face within this specific industry. We collect data hoping to generate more thoughtful and informed debate about cultural and inclusivity policies within music.
We see our actions as aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 17 interlinked goals set in 2015 by the United Nations and to be achieved by 2030 for a better and more sustainable future for all. In particular we find our action is aligned with Goal 5 – Gender Equality and Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities.
We operate independently and free from any institution. We look forward to collaborations with other researchers, journalists, and whoever is interested. Please do not hesitate to contact us!
Curating Diversity è un progetto creato nel 2019 da Valentina Bertolani e Luisa Santacesaria. Il nostro obiettivo è condividere, con altri ricercatori e parti interessate, dati e risultati delle nostre indagini sullo stato attuale della scena musicale italiana.
Con il nostro lavoro vogliamo far conoscere le sfide che le donne e le minoranze affrontano all’interno di questo settore. Attraverso la raccolta dei dati, vogliamo generare un dibattito attento e informato sulle politiche culturali e di inclusione all’interno della musica.
Consideriamo le nostre azioni allineate agli Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile, 17 obiettivi interconnessi proposti nel 2015 dalle Nazioni Unite e da raggiungere entro il 2030 per un futuro più sostenibile per tutti. In particolare, ci allineiamo all’Obiettivo 5 – Parità di Genere e all’Obiettivo 10 – Riduzione delle diseguaglianze.
